Taranaki Tennis Association Board Chairman, Andrew Baylis, won the Volunteer/Administrator award at The Daily News Taranaki Sportsperson of the Year Awards in New Plymouth on Friday 26th November.

Baylis has worked tirelessly for Taranaki Tennis, helping host the Davis Cup in Hawera this year.  Laying the portable court, assisting with preparations for the venue, organising the pro-am, commentating the event and training the ball kids were several of the areas Andrew worked on.

Baylis is also president of Okaiawa Tennis Club.

Beth Webster (Rotokare) was also a nominee in the Masters Sportsperson of the Year section.  Webster competed at the NZ Seniors champs with some success in January and also received an award for 23 years of service at national level.   She was a member of the New Zealand Seniors team which played in Turkey in October.
