Ajeet Rai lost his first round match in qualifying at the ITF Summer Championships in Auckland.  Rai lost 5-7 6-3 6-3 to  Ryusuke Tanaka (Jpn).
Rai made it into the Main draw however, as a Lucky Loser.  Rai played Australia's Jake Faundez, losing 7-5 6-3.
Rai and his Australian partner went out in the first round of the doubles, to the 3rd seeds, Kyle Butters/Jesse Ruder-Hook 6-4 6-1.

Hamish Mead lost his first round match 6-4 6-1 to Ruder-Hook (USA).  Ajeet Rai won his first round match 5-7 6-1 6-4, then went down to Ruder-Hook 6-7(5) 6-2 6-3.
In doubles, Mead/Connor Williamson lost their first round match 6-0 6-1 to the No.4 seeds.  Rai/Sergey Belov won their first round match 6-0 6-3, then lost to the No.3 seeds 7-5 6-1.
Hikaru Han lost her first round singles match 6-0 6-0 and her first round doubles match 6-1 6-2.
The ITF tournament is for 18s so our 15yo's gained good esperience.

Ajeet Rai is drawn to play Nelson Roso from Australia; Hamish Mead plays the No.13 seed from USA, Jesse Ruder-Hook.
Hikaru Han plays No.12 seed from USA, Elyse Lavender.
All three players were given wildcards into the event.

Ajeet Rai (Huatoki) played in the main draw at the ITF Junior tournament in Chch.  Rai went out in the first round of the doubles in a 3rd set super tiebreak 7-6(4) 4-6 10-8 but fared much better in the singles draw.
Rai, 15, defeated the number 1 ranked Australian for his age, Kody Pearson, 0-6 6-4 6-3, before losing to a Japanese player 6-3 6-2.

Play now moves to Wellington for the Tennis Central Champs where Rai is joined by Hamish Mead (Okaiawa) and Hikaru Han (Huatoki).
