Bad weather played a dominant role in Soffe Cup this week with only one match being completed and the other two ties being abandoned part way through.
The completed match was at Stratford where Pukekura were put to the sword on the astroturf courts.  Stratford certainly bounced back from a soft loss last week to totally dictate terms.  Sam Howard was dominant at No.1 winning over David Barnard 6-0 6-3.  Andy Roberts played a solid game to overpower Andrew Hood 6-1 6-0.  Grant Kite had a typically close encounter with Mel Slinger and came out the victor 7-6 2-6 6-4.  Michael Boland at No.4 was the only one to surrender a match to Pukekura when he succumbed to Kerry Dwyer 6-2 6-4.  The Stratford ladies stood up to be counted with Lyn Stanners leading the way with a 6-4 6-2 over Donna Thorne.  Reagan Boland outlasted Jeanette Harding 6-7 6-3 6-2 whilst Katie Stanners was too solid for Rebecca Wormald 6-2 6-2 at No.4.  Nikayla Barnard was the winner for Pukekura in the No.3 spot when she eventually settled into her match against Kristen Lourie 3-6 6-1 6-1.
Stratford won both the men's doubles 6-0 6-3 and 6-4 6-3 respectively but were very lucky to win both ladies matches.  Stanners/Stanners beat Thorne/Harding 4-6 6-4 7-6 and Boland/Lourie defeated Barnard/Wormald 6-4 3-6 7-6.  Stratford won three of the combines to seal a big 13-3 victory and whilst fourth on the ladder, are only 6.5 points from the lead.

Huatoki hosted Okaiawa/Manaia but the rain had started to come in by the start of play.  Three matches were completed, which were both ladies doubles and the No.4 men's singles and they all went the way of Huatoki.  Ronan Avery was too strong for Blake Kalin 6-1 6-1.  The ladies doubles were close, with Tracey/Old/Chris Wilson beating Lauren Fraine/Caroline Jackson 6-3 6-4 and the bottom ladies doubles going to a third set tiebreak, Robyn Harrison/Jae Wilson prevailing over Georgia Jackson/Helen johnston 6-1 2-6 10-4.
Huatoki now hold a two point advantage at the top of the Soffe Cup table with Okaiawa/Manaia moving up to fifth.

The Oakura versus Rotokare meeting was also curtailed by rain but not before Oakura rapidly compiled a tie-winning nine matches to Rotokare's zero matches.   All four ladies singles matches were completed with Bailey Bruckner winning 6-0 6-1 over Tania Atkinson, Jackie Keenan a 6-2 6-0 victor over Helena Goodin, Chris Davies having a good win over Grace Greensill 6-1 6-3 and Poppy Mitchell rounding it out with a 6-0 7-5 win over Brittaney Carr 6-0 7-5.  Brady Simpson and Craig Waite also had easy wins and together with a further two doubles and one combines, reached a winning margin.  The remaining un-completed matches were shared.  Oakura jump to second place on the table and Rotokare drop to sixth.
