Matches could go either way this weekend in Soffe Cup, in the last round before Xmas.
Sandfords Manaia host Hareb Deken Oakura, Central Finance Rotokare play Naki Racquets Pukekura while Farmlands Okaiawa travel to play AWE Huatoki.
Oakura play Manaia this weekend with top players missing from both sides. Oakura are hardest hit with Charlie Lewis & Simon Spurdle filling in at 3 & 4 respectively. They will have their hands full with Manaia's Jacob Gopperth and Josh Murdoch. Oakura's Graeme Mitchell will be at No.1, against Cameron Koch which will be close, while Len Adamson at 2 beating Beauden Fleming would be a surprise. In the women's it will be interesting, but Manaia should dominate with their best line-up this season. Oakura's Sue Oldfield at 1, taking on indomitable Nicole Koch will not be easy. At 2 & 3, Miaana Walden and Jackie Keenan will battle it out with Manaia's Alesha Ford and Maree Gopperth, with both likely to go Manaia's way. Chris Davies, although in good form, will face the unbeaten Trudy Vince, who is likely to stay unbeaten.
Beating Huatoki at home will be a tough task for Okaiawa. Huatoki No.1 Amrit Rai will still need to be wary of the capable Andrew Powell but should win. Chris Popata makes his first appearance and should breeze past Mark Laurence however Alastair Nairn at 3, will be evenly matched against the left-hander Vincent Baylis. Talented English schoolboy, Stephen Gibbons at 4 for Huatoki should be too fast and strong for leaden-footed Ryan Stockman. Huatoki will dominate the women's, Alice Caskey at 1, should ease past Emmah Ussher. Sophie Robertson & Ellen O'Byrne take on Beth Macleod & Jaimee Baylis and should both prevail. Hikaru Han who is in top form should breeze past the stubborn Aroha Beattie.
Rotokare will have Malcolm Elder to take on Jaime Simpson at No.1. Elder would need to be at his best to win. Shane Devlin lines up against Meto Snegirev, which should go Devlin's way. Laurie Jordan at 3 will take on John Lehman, while Derek Edwards will likely play Pukekura's, Jamie Reid, with probable close wins to Pukekura. Both women's line-ups look evenly matched. Huatoki's Karen Cranston at No.1 will play Kirsten Adam and this will be a close match. At No 2, Julie Foley will struggle against the battle-hardened Donna Thorne. The 3 & 4's, Helena Goodin & Hannah Trevis take on Chantelle Peters & Micheala Spurdle, which will be even matches.
