The Taranaki
representative tennis team to play Hawkes Bay in the first defence of the
Christie Cup of the season has been named by selectors Mike Fleming (New
Plymouth), Alaister Murdoch (Otakeho) and Grant Gopperth ( Manaia).
There are two
newcomers, Mark Atkins who played for the B team last season and Saori Han,
Huatoki's top woman who is having her first season of Soffe Cup.
The match
promises to be keenly contested. Taranaki won the Cup off Hawkes Bay,
15-9 in November last year and defended it for the rest of the season.

Mark Atkins (Rotokare), Mike Fleming (Pukekura), Aaron Hine ( Oakura) or
Stuart Wood (Waiwaka), Chris Popata ( Rotokare), Jonathan Ussher (Huatoki),
Zac Wills ( Pukekura), Leith Atkins ( Rotokare), Alesha Ford ( Manaia),
Saori Han ( Huatoki) , Nicole Koch ( Manaia), Linda Reid (Pukekura ),
Catherine Stevenson.
