Most interest
will centre around the Hooker Pacific Pukekura and Hareb Deken Motors Oakura
match in Soffe Cup interclub tennis on Saturday. Oakura is in second place
on the points table and Pukekura third. Oakura looks to have the edge in the
match which will be played at Pukekura.
In the top
singles match Oakura's Josh Walden will play Michael Fleming, who
rarely loses in interclub and should come away with another win. In the No 2
match, John Hardie Boys will play Dennis Reid. In the top two women's
matches, Oakura's Alesha Ford will play Linda Reid while Leah Fletcher will
play Donna Thorne.
Competition
leader and Soffe Cup holders, Central Finance Rotokare should continue their
unbeaten run against AWE Huatoki, who' s only success has been a draw with
McDonald Real Estate Matapu, at Huatoki.
Rotokare's No
1 and 2 Ben Pollard and Chris Popata should play Jonno Ussher and Jaden
Hareb while in the women, Rotokare's top pair of Catherine Stevenson and
Kelly Toa should play Saori Han and Chris Wilson.
Sandfords
Manaia, in fourth spot, travel to Matapu and should come away with a
comfortable win against the sixth placed side. The McDonald Real Estate
Matapu team, headed by David White and Krystal Oakes will play the strong
pairing of brother and sister Cameron and Nicole Koch. In the No 2 matches,
Manaia's Jacob Gopperth will play Matapu's Jason Hurley and Manaia's Irene
Cruikshank will play Helen Kelly.
Lockwood Design
and Build Okaiawa are at home to Hawera with Hawera fancied in the bottom of
the table clash.
In the top
men's match, Okaiawa's Andrew Powell will play Hawera's Neil McCann while
Vincent Baylis will play Conrad Heron in the No 2 match.
In the No 1
women's match Okaiawa's Beth MacLeod will play Sheri De'ath and in the No 2
match, Okaiawa's junior rep, Amelia Bowers- Weir will play Erin Annabell.
