This weekend all teams will be playing singles and men's and women's doubles.  Sandfords Manaia will host Hareb Deken Oakura in what will no doubt be a different outcome due to the return of Oakura's university students.  Sue Oldfield (Oakura) will play Nicole Koch at number 1, with Miaana Walden playing Sarah Kelly (Manaia) at two.  These two have not played since the beginning of last season and this would be the pick of the ladies matches to watch.  At three Manaia's Maree Gopperth will play Becky Bruckner.  Gopperth has won the last two times these ladies have meet and Saturday shouldn't go any other way.  Grace Kelly, Manaia's number 4 will play Louise Brankin.

Taranaki Number 1 Jordan Fleming (Manaia) will play Graeme Mitchell and Cameron Koch (Manaia) will Josh Walden.  Both should go to Manaia.  At three Michael Gates returns to the squad after a week off and his opponent should be Tei Walden with Tommy Death (Manaia) playing Len Adamson.    Manaia will have the upper hand over Oakura due to their consistent combination.

Icon's Sport Tariki Pukekura visit AWE Huatoki.  Alice Caskey and Sophie Robertson (Huatoki) will play Linda Reid and Kirsten Adam at one and two respectively.  Last round both these matches were won by Huatoki.  Donna Thorne replaces Louise Waite at three.  Waite is away representing her school at the North Island Primary Schools Tournament.  Thorne will play Chris Wilson.  These two have played many matches I am sure, going too far back for the current grading lists to record.  Wilson however, has had more match play and may edge out Thorne.  Jeannette Harding also returns to the squad to play at 4.  Her opponent will be Lorraine Heerdengen.  As these ladies have never played each other, it could be the match to watch.

The men's lineup will is hard to pick.  Should Jono Ussher play for Huatoki, Callum Old will be looking forward to the challenge as these two have never meet.  Amrit Rai (if available) will play Michael Fleming.  Fleming should be too experienced for the eldest Rai brother.  David Innes of Huatoki will face Chris Jury at three.  This is my pick for the match to watch in the men's singles and Jeremy Wichman will play Jaime Simpson.

Farmlands Okaiawa host city team Central Finance Rotokare.  Okaiawa's team has been consistent all first round, however, this weekend they will be without their number one lady and Taranaki's new find, Amelia Weir.  Okaiawa have plucked a replacement number one from what seems to be thin air.  University student and long time club member Emmah Ussher will return to the squad.  Okaiawa seem to be just getting stronger.  Ussher will play Tania L'Ami,  Jo Gyde (Okaiawa) will play Karen Cranston; last time Cranston won.  Okaiawa;s Andrew Powell will play Malcolm Elder at number one.  This could go either way.
