In Soffe Cup matches
today, it is difficult to pick the winners as the biggest winning margin so
far after two rounds, is two matches.
Co -leaders AWE
Huatoki are at home to last placed Hareb Deken Oakura. Huatoki are
without No 2 woman Chris Wilson( back injury) and No 4 man Ajeet Rai (in
Wanganui for the CD Masters). No 2, David Geange returns form
overseas, and the No 4 will be either Jeremy Wichman or Quin Rosa.
Diana Carswell comes into the woman's team at No 3. No 1 Chris Popata is in
for a hard game against Graham Mitchell who hasn't lost a game in his first
two previous outings. In the no.1 womans' match, Alice Caskey will
have a tough challenge also, against Sue Oldfield while in the No 2 match
Oakura's Becky Bruckner should beat Robin HInton.
Icon Sports Tariki
Pukekura are at home to Stumble Inn Waiwaka who will be buoyant after their
win over Oakura last week. Pukekura are likely to be without No 2
Callum Old (also in Wanganui). If No1 Mike Fleming is available he will
take on David Lace, while the No 2 clash will be between Pukekura's Tony
Radich and Mike Lace. In the women's matches, Pukekura's Linda Reid
will have her work cut out against Krystal Oakes and in the No 2 match,
Waiwaka's Michele Lace should be too good for Kirsten Adam.
Co-leaders Rotokare and
Sandfords Manaia clash at Rotokare. Unless Manaia are at full
strength, Rotokare are tipped to win. The No 1 mens' singles will be between
either Ben Pollard or Blair Crowley from Rotokare, against Cameron Koch,
with Koch the likely winner and the No 2 match will be between Crowley or
Malcolm Elder and Jordan Fleming, with Fleming the overwhelming favourite.
In the woman's singles, Manaia's Nicole Koch (Taranaki No 1) will be too
strong for Rotokare's No 1 Karen Cranston while Rotokare's No 2 Tania L'Ami
should triumph over Sarah Kelly. It will be interesting to see who
comes out on top In the No 3 and 4 clashes with Shane Devlin and Phil
Teetzen taking on Michael Gates and Tommy Death and Rotokare teenagers
Beccie Atkins and Frances Gray against Maree Gopperth and Grace Kelly.
